Three artists are taking over our Instagram between now and our September exhibition.
The first residency is running from 1 – 15 June, with Kris ‘Avery’ Stewart – a self taught artist from Gateshead, North East England. He works under the brand of AqueminiArts.
A traditional artist, painter and illustrator, Avery works in a variety of mediums, often combining traditional art with digital aspects.
Avery has a style heavily inspired by social justice movements, hip hop music and the comic book artists of the 90’s (AqueminiArts taking its name from the rap group Outkastk).
Avery aims to create a bold visual and strong imagery that reflects his influences and surroundings.
See his residency art on our Instagram.
We held an award-winning exhibition, featuring art from Banksy, Peter Kennard, Darren Cullen, Jill Gibbon and Danny Minnick. We also hosted events featuring Cassetteboy, Dizraeli, Attilla the Stockbroker and Kate Smurthwaite.
The exhibition and events attracted global press coverage.
As well as raising awareness, we donated over £200,000 to Campaign Against the Arms Trade and Reprieve.
